Journey in Faith
Updates:
The Archdiocese of Dubuque held 34 regional informational sessions for parishioners to learn more about the Journey in Faith process. These sessions explained information that was released earlier at dbqjourneyinfaith.org.
- Rationale, process, and timeline for Journey in Faith
- Importance of prayer and synodal listening in this process
- Proposed pastorate models as possible new groupings of parishes for the future
- Ways to listen, learn, ask questions and provide insights throughout the process including engaging in your parish’s October and November local meetings and providing written feedback via the Journey in Faith website
You are urged to review all of the information on the website including videos, maps, and spreadsheets that was released in September.
What is the role of Journey in Faith Parish Team Members and who are they?
Journey in Faith Team Members are parishioners selected by the pastor/PLC to help facilitate the feedback process at the parish. Their role is to impartially record and submit the feedback of the parishioners at their parish meetings to the Journey in Faith Core Team. They are advocates for parishioners to be engaged in the process. Local Journey in Faith Team Members are NOT decision makers in this process. All decisions will ultimately be made by Archbishop Zinkula.
AT OUR PARISH the Team Members are Tiffany Houser, Kevin and Susie Davis, Carolyn Pfiffner, and Joe Reiter (who each represent Immaculate Conception), and Eileen Delagardelle, Nikki Schmit, and Deacon Kevin and Kristy Hagarty (who each represent St. Joseph). They will be facilitating our local parish meetings for IC and St. Joseph that will be held together:
Wednesday Oct. 8th from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday Nov. 12th from 6 to 9 p.m.
This is your opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed models. Feedback can be submitted to the Archdiocese through November 21, 2025.
We’re accommodating three hours for each parish meeting, but we hope that both meetings will not last that long. We thank them for their time and dedication for this very important work!

IC CHURCH SIDEWALK & HANDICAP RAMP PROJECT
The current ramp cannot be repaired, as it no longer meets Federal ADA guidelines, therefore it must be completely reconstructed. To accommodate this, substantial modifications will be required for the steps and retaining walls at the south entrance. In addition, existing sewer concerns in this area may necessitate excavation during the project. After reviewing alternatives and proposals, the IC Parish Council, Finance Commitee, and Building & Grounds Committee have approved extensive renovations to preserve and enhance the accessibility and beauty of our Church. The project will be completed in three phases:
1. South Entrance Accessibility - replace and update the south Church entrance to meet ADA standards.
2. Retaining Walls (South to Rectory) - replace existing retaining walls extending from the new entrance to the rectory.
3. North Retaining Wall - replace the remaining portion of the north Church retaining wall not updated in previous renovations.
The new construction will be designed to seamlessly match the aesthetics of our existing landscaping and retaining walls. IC Parish has already received memorials and donations to help support this important project. We are asking for additional contributions from our parish community to ensure that we can complete the renovations without depleting parish savings. Any level of support you can provide will be deeply appreciated. Donations can be put in an envelope marked "Sidewalk Repairs" and placed in the collection or taken to the office during normal business hours.
Thank you in advance for your donation!
